Water Inlet Options
-
A back inlet toilet features a water connection hidden directly behind or inside the upper part of the cistern, creating a completely seamless, minimalist appearance with no visible plumbing.

A bottom inlet toilet connects to the water supply near the lower base or side of the pan via an exposed tap and flexible hose, making it simpler to service but leaving the plumbing hardware fully visible.
Outlet (Waste Trap Configurations)
A toilet is S-trap or P-trap based on which way the waste pipe comes out.
-
S Trap: Common in Australia—on an S-trap pan, the toilet outlet connects straight to the floor.
-
P Trap: On a P-trap pan, the toilet outlet connects directly to the wall.
-
Universal Trap: The pan can be fitted as either an S trap or a P trap.
